Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care performs various direct patient care activities in a long-term care environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care provides support and companionship to patients. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Additionally, Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care helps patients take medications. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Maintains documents and records related to patient care. Follows all relevant safety guidelines and regulations. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Requires State License. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.     FLSA Classification: Full-time, Non-exempt, Hourly $18.22- $25.00

    Under the supervision of an RN, the CNA provides support for nursing staff and ensures that patient care is the best it can be. CNAs are a critical component to our nursing staff, and we are looking for a compassionate and driven individual to join us. A CNA’s foremost responsibility is patient wellbeing and they act and serve to meet every patient’s needs.

    The working environment is a normal clinical setting with exposure to sharps and biological and chemical agents. It is expected that facility safety practices and protocols are followed at all times.

    Essential Functions
    • Assist nurses with implementation of patient care plans.
    • Carry out all nursing care measures as delegated.
    • Carry out general hygiene such as baths, showers, grooming, and oral care.
    • Assist with elimination via urinals, bedpans, and bowel or bladder programs.
    • Assist with post mortem care.
    • Assist with and prepare patients for meals, transfer, and discharge.
    • Maintain record of fluid intake and output.
    • Complete calorie count and other nutrition record as delegated
    • Provide measures of comfort for patients, such as blankets, pillows, and water.
    • Maintain inventory of patient belongings.
    • Assist others in the performance of more complicated treatments or diagnostic procedures as requested or assigned.
    • Document all care in PCC (charting)
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Education and Experience
    • Certification by the state as a Certified Nursing Assistant required.
    • At least six (6) months’ experience working as a CNA preferred.
    • Current BLS required within four (4) months of hire or transferred.

    Physical Requirements

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.     • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
    • Must be able to move and traverse about the facility 50% of the time.
    • Frequently transport objects weighing up to 50lbs
    • Occasionally position objects weighing up to 100lbs
    • Must be able to communicate and exchange information in a way others will understand.
    • Must be able to recognize details such as color and depth within a few feet of the observer.
    • Frequently operates computers, machinery, and other healthcare equipment.
    • Constantly positions self to complete essential functions
    • May be required to wear N95s or PAPRs up to 80% of the shift.
