Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care performs various direct patient care activities in a long-term care environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care provides support and companionship to patients. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Additionally, Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care helps patients take medications. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Maintains documents and records related to patient care. Follows all relevant safety guidelines and regulations. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Requires State License. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Nursing Scheduler/Staffing Coordinator
On a daily basis, a scheduler will complete the following tasks:
- Input open shifts into a scheduling system
- Review, approve, and book shifts accepted by nurses and nursing assistants
- Manage full-time, per diem, and (in some cases) travel staff schedule requests
- Create a master schedule using On Shift software
- Communicate with staff and management
- Respond to staff crises
- Fill last-minute shift requests, shift cancelations, and no-shows
- Report to the DON and/or facility admin regarding staffing and scheduling cost
