Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care performs various direct patient care activities in a long-term care environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care provides support and companionship to patients. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Additionally, Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care helps patients take medications. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Maintains documents and records related to patient care. Follows all relevant safety guidelines and regulations. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Requires State License. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Job Description:
Under general supervision, the CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) performs a combination of the following duties in caring for patients in the facility, consistent with the patient's plan of care and established care standards and facility policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include:- Provide personal hygiene for patients.
- Assisting with basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating.
- Assist in the transport of residents.
- Takes and records patient's vital signs.
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment.
- Provide supervision and guidance for patient's during skills building and daily activities.
- Performs/assists with oral care including brushing and flossing of teeth, swabbing gums, denture care, and administration of mouthwash.
- Sterilize and prepare tools and equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and ensures safety of residents.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned or required.
Qualifications:- CNA (Experienced CNAs and New Grads welcome)
- Current, active CNA Certificate or graduation from a CNA Certification program
- High school graduate or equivalent (Preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - must be able to read, write and speak English
