Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care performs various direct patient care activities in a long-term care environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care provides support and companionship to patients. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Additionally, Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care helps patients take medications. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Maintains documents and records related to patient care. Follows all relevant safety guidelines and regulations. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Requires State License. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. - Develop treatment plans by identifying a problem list and methods to achieve identified goals
- Coordinate treatment plan with patient, family, and other team members
- Help patients stretch and exercise certain muscle groups
- Move patients from wheelchairs or walkers to physical therapy area
- Teach patients techniques like balance training
- Adapts treatment to meet the individual needs of the patient
- Reviews the quality and appropriateness of the total services delivered
JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PTA PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT:
- Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program
- Successful completion of Certification Examination
- 1 year of long-term care/skilled nursing experience required
- Valid PTA license in FL
