Certified Nursing Assistant - Nursing Home performs various direct patient care activities in a nursing home environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists patients in dressing or undressing, bathing, or eating. Being a Certified Nursing Assistant - Nursing Home collects non-invasive body fluid specimens or gathers vital signs but does not start or administer intravenous fluids. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Additionally, Certified Nursing Assistant - Nursing Home documents patient interactions as needed. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Requires certified nursing assistant (CNA). Requires applicable state license. Certified Nursing Assistant - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. The Certified Nurse Assistant - CNA is responsible for providing direct, hands-on care to residents to ensure residents attain or maintain the highest possible physical, mental and emotional well-being possible for each resident without declines in status unless the decline is documented as unavoidable.
Responsibilities:
- The CNA follows safety policies and practices in performing nursing care.
- The CNA reports changes in residents condition immediately to the Charge Nurse.
- The CNA observes resident's rights including, but not limited to, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
- The CNA promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
Requirements for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA):
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate for NY
- Excellent work ethic
- Caring and compassionate personality
