Certified Nursing Assistant - Nursing Home performs various direct patient care activities in a nursing home environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists patients in dressing or undressing, bathing, or eating. Being a Certified Nursing Assistant - Nursing Home collects non-invasive body fluid specimens or gathers vital signs but does not start or administer intravenous fluids. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Additionally, Certified Nursing Assistant - Nursing Home documents patient interactions as needed. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Requires certified nursing assistant (CNA). Requires applicable state license. Certified Nursing Assistant - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Education
Successful completion of State Approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; Name must appear on NC State Registry as Nurse Aide in good standing.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience/Requirements
Prior experience as Nurse Aide preferred but not required.
Ability to communicate with residents and nursing staff
Must have the ability to read and write.
Must be 18 years of age or older by first day of work.
Physical Demands
Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting, moving, and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds; exerting considerable force frequently, and/or intermediate force constantly to move objects and residents. Reaching, handling, fingering, talking, hearing, visual near acuity, bending, stooping and walking required.
