Being a Certified Nursing Assistant - Nursing Home collects non-invasive body fluid specimens or gathers vital signs but does not start or administer intravenous fluids. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Additionally, Certified Nursing Assistant - Nursing Home documents patient interactions as needed. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Requires certified nursing assistant (CNA). Requires applicable state license. Delivers quality home health care services to the Agency’s clients under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Therapist in accordance with physician orders, Agency and industry standards, and federal and state regulations.
Assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobilityEngages residents in meaningful conversation, socialization, and activity while providing personal care assistance• Responds to all resident needs and/or requests for care promptly, and provides or obtains assistance with care as necessary• Observes residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral condition, unusual symptoms, accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences, and reports promptly to a licensed nurse• Completes all forms and documentation such as incident reports, change of condition reports, and behavior tracking, as requested, and in a timely manner• Prepares and serves meals, assists with eating, not including tube feeding• Makes beds, empties garbage, and tidies rooms daily and as needed
Education and Experience:Current state CNA license in good standing•CPR Certificate• High school diploma or equivalent• Previous experience working with the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting also preferredValid RN license, valid CPR certificate
