Certified Nursing Assistant - Nursing Home performs various direct patient care activities in a nursing home environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists patients in dressing or undressing, bathing, or eating. Being a Certified Nursing Assistant - Nursing Home collects non-invasive body fluid specimens or gathers vital signs but does not start or administer intravenous fluids. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Additionally, Certified Nursing Assistant - Nursing Home documents patient interactions as needed. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Requires certified nursing assistant (CNA). Requires applicable state license. Certified Nursing Assistant - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. THIS CASE IS A 12 HOUR SHIFT (M-F) WHEN THE CLIENT IS OUT OF SCHOOL FOR THE HOLIDAYS AND DURING THE SUMMER. 3 HOUR SHIFT WHEN THE CLIENT IS IN SCHOOL.
- Bathe and dress patients
- Serve meals and help patients eat
- Take vital signs
- Turn or reposition patients who are bedridden
- Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses and doctors
- Provide and empty bedpans
- Lift patients into beds, wheelchairs, exam tables, etc.
- Light house keeping
- Examine patients for bruises, blood in urine or other injuries/wounds
- Clean and sanitize patient areas
- Change bed sheets and restock rooms with necessary supplies
- Medication reminders
