Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant jobs in Chico, CA
Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant assists an Occupational Therapist with rehabilitative activities for patients who may have developmental, physical and emotional impairments or who are recovering from injury. Prepares adaptive equipment used during treatment and supports patient activities. Being a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant documents therapeutic activities and details of patients progress. Requires an associate degree. Additionally, Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant requires NBCOT Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) certification. Typically reports to an occupational therapist. Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Job Description
As a skilled nursing facility occupational therapy assistant, you'll help individuals with the skills needed for life's daily activities. Working under the direction of an occupational therapist in a skilled nursing facility, you'll help implement occupational therapy treatment plans, show patients how to use OT equipment, monitor patient progress and more. You'll play a critical role in helping patients who are ill, injured or disabled regain quality of life.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent experience as an occupational therapy assistant in a skilled nursing facility
- Degree in relevant field
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- Current state license
