Summary of Job: Under the direction of the Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant shall implement specific occupational therapy treatment programs for residents in a variety of settings according to accepted Occupational Therapy practices and principles.
Reporting Relationship: The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will report to the Director of Rehabilitation.
Other Key Relationships: The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will consistently consult with the Occupational Therapist to carry out treatment programs according to the plan of care. The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will directly supervise treatment carried out by Occupational Therapist Assistant students.
Requirements
Minimum Education, Experience and Skills:
Education: Associate Degree
Experience: Degree in Occupational Therapist Assistant from an accredited program and currently licensed in the state of South Carolina as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant. Three months of related experience in a senior living community or skilled nursing facility.
Skill: Ability to effectively communicate using basic language skills. Ability to manage time and the work demands using practical problem solving and critical thinking skills. Proficient computer skills and familiar with programs including, NetHealth, Rehab Optima, Casamba, Point Click Care, Microsoft Office, etc.
