Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant jobs in Lawton, OK
Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant assists an Occupational Therapist with rehabilitative activities for patients who may have developmental, physical and emotional impairments or who are recovering from injury. Prepares adaptive equipment used during treatment and supports patient activities. Being a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant documents therapeutic activities and details of patients progress. Requires an associate degree. Additionally, Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant requires NBCOT Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) certification. Typically reports to an occupational therapist. Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. "Overview:
Provides patient care by organizing and conducting medically prescribed programs in order to achieve maximum potential.Displays treatment skills practicing within the scope of State Practice Act and in compliance with all rules and regulations with National Board and governing bodies in the state of practice.
Promotes growth and development of department by assisting in special projects and/or coordinating activities in patient care programs.
Qualifications:
Education:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
Certifications:
Registration or pending registration by National Occupational therapy Certification Board required. Certification or pending certification by state of practice Division of Professional Registration Office Health Care Providers. Must know CPR.
Other:
Must be able to respond to emergency situations
