Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant assists an Occupational Therapist with rehabilitative activities for patients who may have developmental, physical and emotional impairments or who are recovering from injury. Prepares adaptive equipment used during treatment and supports patient activities. Being a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant documents therapeutic activities and details of patients progress. Requires an associate degree. Additionally, Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant requires NBCOT Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) certification. Typically reports to an occupational therapist. Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Madonna Towers has an in-house therapy department with reasonable productivity standards and no mandated group/concurrent treatments. We are looking for a casual COTA to assist with intermittent needs during the week and/or flexible partial shifts on Saturday's. $1,000 bonus
Overview
The OT Assistant is responsible for providing treatment for residents/patients under the occupational therapy plan of care as established by the therapist.
Responsibilities
Also interacts with residents/patients, family members, responsible party and other health care team members, while maintaining standards of professional conduct. This position complies with regulatory standards of the American Occupational Therapy Association, the Department of Health, and any other professional guidelines or standards.
