Certified Respiratory Therapist assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Being a Certified Respiratory Therapist also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is an impairment. Requires an associate degree and a credential of Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). Additionally, Certified Respiratory Therapist may be expected to maintain a CPR certification. Typically reports to a manager. Certified Respiratory Therapist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 paid over 2 years
Performs various therapy modalities to patients as ordered by the physician or based on an approved protocol for the administration of oxygen, aerosol, or bronchodilator medications. Manage ventilators and other diagnostic or monitoring devices. Keeps appropriate clinical and clerical patient records. Performs patient assessment and education. Participates in staff education and supervision as necessary. Supervises equipment and departmental supply maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager of Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Dept.

Certified Respiratory Therapist Qualifications:
Associates degree in respiratory therapy
Licensed in the state of Iowa as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with the NBRC at time of hire.
Basic computer skills, read, writes, comprehends and speaks English.
Preferred:
1 year experience preferred.
Maintains Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with the NBRC.
Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications:
Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy.
Licensed in the state of Iowa as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the NBRC at time of hire.
Preferred:
1 year experience preferred.
Maintains Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the NBRC.
