Certified Respiratory Therapist assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Being a Certified Respiratory Therapist also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is an impairment. Requires an associate degree and a credential of Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). Additionally, Certified Respiratory Therapist may be expected to maintain a CPR certification. Typically reports to a manager. Certified Respiratory Therapist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Minimum Education
    X Graduate of a post-secondary respiratory education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) X RequiredRequired Skills
    Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Required Skills
    Certifications:
    X Basic Life Support (BLS)
    X ACLS
    X Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
    X Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) preferredRequired Skills
    Licenses:
    Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the State of Georgia
    Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the State of Georgia
    Minimum Work Experience
    One (1) year of formal training/intern experience preferred.
