As a member of the company’s senior leadership team, the Production Manager will contribute to the strategic direction and lead the day-to-day operations and process improvement of the company. The Production Manager will be responsible for the planning, directing, and managing of the day-to-day activities of the Operations, Maintenance, Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, and Turnaround departments in such a fashion as to establish excellence in safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations for the plant.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

· Maintenance & Turnarounds
· Oil Movements
· Wastewater Operations
Ø Other key aspects of this position include:
· Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established company quality standards.
· Ensure areas of responsibility comply with all HSE and PSM policies and procedures and ensure employees are knowledgeable in these policies and procedures.
· Candidate must be strongly committed to setting the safety culture and leading the safety program for the entire plant.
· Assist President and staff members in the development and formulation of long- and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives.
· Partner with the Technical Services & Projects Manager to resolve operational issues and maintain unit efficiencies.
· Ensure that all operations meet or exceed environmental, health and regulatory requirements.
· Candidate must be able to operate in an environment of continuous refinery expansion and complexity enhancements.
· Develop and manage budgets and schedules to meet financial targets with an understanding of the company’s accounting and procurement procedures and guidelines and abides by them.
· Develop Turnaround Maintenance schedules and budgets.
· Manage the refinery Mechanical Integrity program utilizing Inspection services and development and execution of the Inspection plan.
· Responsible for staff development and succession planning in areas of responsibility. Ensure the right people are in the right jobs and provide them with the necessary resources, training, and direction to allow them to work towards and achieve common goals. When necessary, take corrective action, along with HR, on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v Qualified candidates will have received their early training and experience in highly regarded refining or other process manufacturing environments building a foundation of skills in operations and leadership.
v Candidates will demonstrate a complete commitment to the full utilization of quality management principles and tools.
v Candidate should have a high level of knowledge in the PSM and HS&E areas.
v Demonstrated organizational skills including planning, budget, project management, contractor management, and allocation of resources to meet production targets/objectives.
v While a foundation of operational skills is required, the final candidate will be selected based upon his/her more broadly based business skills and capacity for strong organizational leadership. This individual must have a strong people orientation and ability to motivate others.
v A clear understanding of how to lead and leverage an organization.
v Candidate should have a flexible management style; ability to manage hands on, coaching employees, and delegation with follow-up.
v Candidates should have strong cross-functional business skills including the ability to translate plans and business results in financial as well as operational terms.
v Strong preference for a Degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering combined with further formal business education (MBA).
v A Minimum of 20 years of progressively responsible operating positions in the refining / process industries.
v Refining experience in maintenance, capital projects, HS&E, PSM, and technical services preferred.
