A facility in Rochester, NY is looking for an MS/T RN for their Pulmonary Unit.

REQUIREMENTS:

• NY State License
• AHA BLS
• Minimum 2 years recent experience
• Epic experience
• Travel experience preferred

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS:

Start date : ASAP

8-week contract

36 hrs/week

• 3x12, Evenings, 3p-3a
• Pulmonary care, chronic ventilator unit, acute BIPAP, high flow oxygen, med-tele
• Must float to like units, If staff float to ICU or ED it is to care for Med/Surg level patients or be helping hands. Will not practice outside of scope

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Knowledge of respiratory diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, tuberculosis, cystic fibrosis, and respiratory failure
• Excellent patient and family relationships and teaching abilities
• Team skills to work with other members of the health care team
• Ability to deal with issues of grief and loss
• Strong assessment skills
• Knowledge of oxygen therapies, assisted ventilation, and suctioning
• Patience for patient nonadherence to regimen and tobacco abuse
• Ability to discuss smoking cessation techniques, ability to administer and teach pharmacological interventions
