Seminary Master’s Degree (MDiv, ThM, or MRE) required. Focus in Theology or Counseling preferred. At least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required. Ordination preferred. Bilingual preferred. If currently serving in a local congregation, the congregation will need to support candidate to function in this capacity.
Ability to function as a professional on the Spiritual Care team to include performing spiritual assessments of patients, documentation in patients’ electronic medical records (EMR), and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals. Knowledgeable in end-of-life issues, crisis intervention, and emotional/spiritual distress issues. A warm and friendly person who can connect easily with persons in critical situations. Minimum of 1 year experience in the health care setting preferred.
