Service
Provides pastoral care to patients, families and staff as assigned by Director of pastoral Care and in cooperation with interdisciplinary team.
a. Assesses spiritual needs of patients and develops spiritual care component for interdisciplinary care plan.
b. Provides spiritual counsel in specifically assigned work areas and available as needed to other care areas.
c. Demonstrates a knowledge of bio-ethical issues/concerns.
d. Charts spiritual assessments, significant information and spiritual care interventions in patient's medical record.
Provides consultation and support to other staff on an informal and referral basis and as requested
a. Available to meet needs of staff.
Works collaboratively with community resources
a. Establishes contact with spiritual leaders from the patient's belief system, as appropriate and authorized by the patient.
b. Networks with denominational and professional peer groups concerning issues related to ministry and spiritual care.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Pastoral Care
a. Performs duties according to established guidelines and time frames.
Efficiency and Effectiveness
Participates in departmental responsibilities
a. Designs, reviews and evaluates with other members Pastoral Care services.
b. Shares with pastoral care staff in 24-hour, 7-day coverage for patients.
c. Attends regularly and contributes to department staff meetings.
d. Assists in the supervision of students and volunteers as requested.
e. Pastoral Care Director is informed of activities and problems.

Provides financial assistance via Chaplains Crisis fund for those with appropriate need
