Join Brown Edwards’ growing client accounting practice as a Client Accounting In-Charge Associate in our Bristol, VA office.

Position Summary:

Perform bookkeeping duties, payroll and financial statement preparation, and provide bookkeeping software consulting services for a variety of clients in the healthcare, professional services, retail and other industries. Review bookkeeping and payroll tasks performed by associates.

What Your Day Looks Like:

• Processes vendor payments and performs general ledger accounting tasks.
• Prepares quarterly payroll and business tax returns.
• Prepares monthly financial reports and statements.
• Prepares monthly account reconciliations.
• Troubleshoots and responds to clients regarding bookkeeping software matters.
• Interacts regularly with clients.
• Assist with supervision and review of associates’ work.
• Other duties as required.

What You Need for This Role:

• Associate degree in Accounting and 3-5 years of payroll and bookkeeping experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with QuickBooks is strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting payable/receivable principles.
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of financial statement preparation.
• Strong data entry skills.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
