Coordinates the activities of the unit and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff. Being a Charge Nurse assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary. Additionally, Charge Nurse requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Charge Nurse supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Charge Nurse typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. General Summary: The licensed nurse provides clinical care to the residents of the household to meet both their medical and physical needs and enable the residents to function at their highest possible level. The Charge Nurse provides guidance and leadership to the Care Associates, promote the residents’ psychosocial well-being through meaningful relationship building, and work with the household team to meet other social needs of the resident and of the household, providing support, friendship and kindness for each of the household members and associates.
