Purpose:
This position directly supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position helps with everyday tasks such as ADL's. These include but are not limited to daily grooming, meal service, risk mitigation and following any applicable behavioral management plans as defined by the resident individual needs.
Essential Duties:
Supervise and monitor nursing staff in training activities as specified in the resident's Active Treatment Plan in all areas relating to medical, dental, and direct care needs and nursing developmental skill acquisition goals.
Complete the nursing schedule each month.
Monitor medical supplies, inventory and order supplies as necessary in accordance with the facility budget.
Develop and maintain the pharmacy, nursing and infection control manuals and monitor staff compliance with these manuals.
Develop and maintain resident medical appointment calendar. Coordinate appointments with Duty Administrator to ensure adequate staffing.
Utilizes clinical nursing competency observing, monitoring and providing care, treatment and services to residents.
Perform primary nursing duties for assigned residents/shift to ensure daily, monthly, quarterly and annual nursing summaries in accordance with residents’ Active Treatment Plan.
Implement administration of prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with State and clinical nursing standards. Receive, transcribe, fax orders to pharmacy and enter orders in the electronic health record.
Monitor physical health of resident, relaying safety and health concerns to the Director of Nursing, physician, pharmacist and other disciplines as needed.
Required Qualification:
Current license in the state of Florida.
Must demonstrate the ability to lift unassisted at least fifty (50) lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least six months’ hospital or rehabilitation nursing experience preferred.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
39.00 to 45.70 depending upon experience.
