Charge Nurse plans, directs, and evaluates the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit or during an assigned shift. Coordinates the activities of the unit and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff. Being a Charge Nurse assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary. Additionally, Charge Nurse requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Charge Nurse supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Charge Nurse typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Duties:

    - Provide direct patient care and supervision to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services
    - Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
    - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
    - Monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and progress
    - Assist with procedures such as spinal taps, airway management, and ostomy care
    - Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and sterile processing standards
    - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
    - Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures, treatments, and self-care techniques
    - Document patient information accurately and timely using electronic medical record systems (eClinicalWorks)

    Experience:

    - Minimum of [X] years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an ambulatory surgery center or similar setting
    - Experience working with children and individuals with special needs is preferred
    - Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and coding practices is a plus
