Process Support Team Manager External Logistics and Processing

Created in February 2014 through a 50/50 joint venture of the world’s largest and second largest steelmakers, ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation, AM/NS Calvert is located in Calvert, Ala. Our state-of-the-art steel processing facility has the capacity to process 5.3 million tons of high-value steel grades including hot rolled bands, hot rolled pickled and oiled, cold rolled, and advanced coated products for the automotive, pipe and tube, appliance/HVAC, service center and construction industries in the NAFTA market.

AM/NS Calvert products are marketed in NAFTA through managing joint venture partner ArcelorMittal.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will lead and develop a team dedicated to Process Support activities to improve efficiencies and controls including but not limited to cost forecasting and tracking, business process development and oversight, centralized data maintenance, documentation retention and control, inventory reconciliation and control, report development, information dissemination related to External Logistics and Processing Services.

The Basics:

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Analytics, or similar field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with various logistics and steel processing activities including transportation, warehousing, material handling, inventory management, and steel processing applications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and working with Data Analytics and Reporting Tools
• Knowledge of various Supply Chain Management activities, including Logistics, External Steel Processing and Warehousing
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving experience
• Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively work cross-functionally with various groups
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)

The Extras:

• SAP experience strongly preferred
• Steel industry experience preferred
• Experience leading and/or managing teams engaged with process support and improvement activities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Full process management including identifying opportunities for improvement, developing and implementing initiatives, presenting recommendations for approvals, and monitoring solutions
• Effectively lead and develop a team to enable results-oriented process support activities that enhance corporate value
• System enhancement including integration of best practices and/or automation and business control initiatives
• Continuously benchmark and review existing processes to ensure “best practices” are evaluated and implemented
• Monitor and evaluate forecasted vs. actual costs and regularly present findings to senior management
• Develop and oversee business processes related to data maintenance and documentation management, including records retention and contract/certificate control
• Develop and oversee business processes related to external steel inventories, including material reconciliations, exception management, error corrections, root cause analysis, KPI monitoring, improvement tracking, and scrap determination
• Design, develop, and distribute reports as needed to support external logistics and processing business requirements
