Core Functions:

• Manage strategic direction of Sterile Processing Department collaborating with departmental supervisors and upper management to ensure departmental goals are aligned with overall organizational objectives.
• Oversee contract and approval process for capital equipment purchases within department, ensuring fiscal responsibility and competitiveness in the equipment acquisition process.
• Assume leadership roles on committees and in meetings, communicating organizational policies and engaging in open dialogue with direct reports.
• Maintain working knowledge of current trends within Sterile Processing industry.

Background/Expertise:

• Bachelors’ degree in healthcare, biological sciences, or related field required.
• For internal interim candidates, Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Internal interim candidates will be given 4 years to obtain their Bachelor’s degree should they move into the permanent position.
• Minimum of three (3) years of sterile processing or operating room experience required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role required. Prior supervisory experience in a related environment required.
• CRCST (IAHCSMM), or CBSPDT (CBSPD) certification required and must be maintained.
