Chemical Dependency Director directs chemical dependency and substance abuse treatment and recovery programs. Leads, supports, and develops care team members. Being a Chemical Dependency Director oversees services from intake through discharge for continuity and quality of client care. Prioritizes client safety and directs crisis management. Additionally, Chemical Dependency Director develops and administers approved standards and guidelines, ensures all licensing and accreditation requirements are maintained. Establishes and administers recordkeeping and reporting processes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Typically reports to a director. The Chemical Dependency Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. This position is under the direction of the Director of CCBHC and within federal, state and local guidelines performs highly complex substance use counseling. Work involves treating and rehabilitating clients in substance use treatment or rehabilitative program. The LCDC is responsible for providing assessment, follow-ups, connecting clients to more intensive services, individual counseling, family counseling, and group therapy. This is a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) CCBHC Expansion Grant funded position ending February 14, 2023. This position works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment while following the Center's Guiding Principles.
Education, Training and Experience (including licensure and certification)
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a human service field as required to qualify as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) and two (2) years prior experience in a mental health field required. Licensure to qualify as a License Chemical Dependency Counselor or Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern required. Master's Degree in a human services field and previous Crisis experience preferred. English/Spanish bilingual preferred.
