Chemical Dependency Director directs chemical dependency and substance abuse treatment and recovery programs. Leads, supports, and develops care team members. Being a Chemical Dependency Director oversees services from intake through discharge for continuity and quality of client care. Prioritizes client safety and directs crisis management. Additionally, Chemical Dependency Director develops and administers approved standards and guidelines, ensures all licensing and accreditation requirements are maintained. Establishes and administers recordkeeping and reporting processes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Typically reports to a director. The Chemical Dependency Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chemical Dependency Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Chemical Dependency Counselor!

     

    The Chemical Dependency Counselor is responsible for providing direct patient care, in compliance with The Joint Commission and CMS standards of care and for patients under circumstances of chemical dependency, substance abuse or addictions.

     

    Ridgeview Institute has been a staple in the state of Georgia and nationwide for the treatment of both addiction and behavioral health for over 40 years. We provide a comprehensive continuum of mental health and substance abuse treatment services based upon a commitment to excellence and quality care to patients and their loved ones.

    Located on a 37-acre wooded campus in the city of Smyrna, GA on the outskirts of Atlanta, Ridgeview Institute provides a safe, caring environment with Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers, Counselors, Activity Therapists and Mental Health Technicians. Treatment services include inpatient and outpatient services and aftercare.

    Qualifications


    Education:  Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.

    Experience:  Experience and expertise in dual diagnosis, 12-step programs and substance abuse,

    License: Must be in process of obtaining substance abuse license/certificate as dictated by the State of Georgia or equivalent, also Master’s License in Social Work or Counseling preferred

     

    Additional Requirements: CPR/First Aid and CPI Training. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
