Chemical Dependency Director directs chemical dependency and substance abuse treatment and recovery programs. Leads, supports, and develops care team members. Being a Chemical Dependency Director oversees services from intake through discharge for continuity and quality of client care. Prioritizes client safety and directs crisis management. Additionally, Chemical Dependency Director develops and administers approved standards and guidelines, ensures all licensing and accreditation requirements are maintained. Establishes and administers recordkeeping and reporting processes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Typically reports to a director. The Chemical Dependency Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chemical Dependency Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position description

    The Chemical Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara is seeking applications as part of an external, open-level search for a tenure-track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor position. The highest priority will be given to candidates with expertise in the field of process systems engineering, broadly defined. However, truly exceptional candidates working in other topical areas of chemical engineering are also encouraged to apply.

    Qualifications
    Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

    At a minimum, applicants must have completed all requirements for a PhD (or equivalent) except the dissertation (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.

    Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

    Applicants must have a PhD degree or equivalent in chemical engineering or a related field by time of appointment.

    Preferred qualifications

    Clear evidence of important intellectual contributions and vision for impactful new areas of research in chemical engineering, especially chemical process and systems engineering.
