Chemical Dependency Director directs chemical dependency and substance abuse treatment and recovery programs. Leads, supports, and develops care team members. Being a Chemical Dependency Director oversees services from intake through discharge for continuity and quality of client care. Prioritizes client safety and directs crisis management. Additionally, Chemical Dependency Director develops and administers approved standards and guidelines, ensures all licensing and accreditation requirements are maintained. Establishes and administers recordkeeping and reporting processes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Typically reports to a director. The Chemical Dependency Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chemical Dependency Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     We are the North American division of world-renown Metrohm AG (Herisau, Switzerland), an industry leader in laboratory instruments and accessories for analytical testing/research. We are looking for a Technical Instructor to join our team.  The ideal candidate will be located within commutable distance to the Metrohm USA headquarters in Riverview, FL.  

    The Technical Instructor’s primary responsibility is to ensure the maximum competency of Metrohm USA’s Field Service Specialists in the installation and maintenance of all Metrohm products. Responsibilities include preparation of course content and objectives, syllabi, lesson plans, student manuals, and development of training aids. These responsibilities also extend to the training offerings developed and provided for customers and internal departments, such as Sales or Marketing. Instructors arrange and provide customer training routinely; either through scheduled “Fundamentals” sessions or with a customized format tailored to individual applications. Customer trainings can be held at the customer site, a training area at any Metrohm USA facility (Riverview/Houston/Plainsboro) or remotely through a virtual interface.

    Essential Functions:

    • Coordinate and deliver high quality instructor-led classroom and virtual training sessions.
    • Identify subject matter that lends itself to virtual training courses and create content for online use.
    • Participate in the development of criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
    • Remain informed of and maintain proficiency with applicable company products and maintain current certification status required to deliver training.
    • Assess the knowledge and skills of training attendees and evaluate the training outcomes.
    • Maintain accurate training documentation and records.
    • Evaluate and maintain training equipment to ensure proper operation.
    • Be the voice of the learner, ensuring that their needs are at the forefront of content efforts.
    • Serve as a mentor to other instructors.
    • Coordinate directly with customer to develop custom training suites and course outlines through consultation. Determine best training mode for individual requests.
    • Assists in developing training schedules and student enrollment.
    • Reports directly to the Training Manager.
    • Overnight travel average of 35%.

     

    Ideal Skills, Experience and Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics or related field with 3-5 years of experience in preparing and delivering technical training and supplemental course materials.  Three - five years' service experience with laboratory chemical instrumentations equipment is preferred. Must possess excellent verbal/written communication skills with effective soft people skills and professional demeanor. Willingness to collaborate with field service team members on related projects, incorporate field-based training feedback and encourage continuous improvement. Fosters a team-based mentality within the training department and other internal staff. Proficiency in computer applications using Windows based software and Metrohm systems software is required.
