    Automated Dairy is actively recruiting at our Jerome, Idaho location. We are currently searching for a highly motivated individual to take on the duties of a Chemical Route Support position. This is an entry level position that establishes the essential skills necessary to assume the role of route specialist. As Chemical Route Support you will learn the skills to ensure the proper delivery, operation, and function of the chemical products that are delivered to customers for the purpose of sanitary and cleaning needs at a barn. 


    Essential Responsibilities:


    1. Delivery: 

    • Assist with the delivery of all items ordered to customer barns in a safe and timely manner.

    2. Equipment: 

    • Monitor operations of any and all chemical delivery systems. Checking systems, lasers, water bar, air pressure, hoses, and filters.

    • Blenders need to be checked weekly, checking flow meters and pumps.

    • Replace rubber goods and maintain chemical delivery pumps as needed.

    3. Inventory: 

    • Maintain and control the level of inventory on your truck that the manager requires.

    • Follow inventory policy. 1.) Truck inventory every month. 2.) Transfer all parts before they leave the shop. 3.) Follow-up on chemical and supply delivered. 4.) Order forms need to be turned in a timely manner (2 to 3 times per week).

    4. Wash Barns:

    • Check on wash operation weekly based on counts.

    • Perform wash audit and provide results to dairyman/manager. 

    • Determine wash temperature, pump operation, check valves and slug operation.

    5. Labeling: 

    • Help to ensure all chemical containers, hoses, blenders, all systems containing chemicals are properly labeled at all times.

    • Help keep SDS sheets up to date with any changes made.

    6. Customer Service: 

    • Maintain good customer relations at all times and report any potential issues to Account Manager as soon as possible. 

    7. Safety: 

    • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including effectively wearing all necessary PPE, and utilizing safety protocols including but not limited to lockout tag out, confined space procedures, etc. 

    • Report unsafe work environments to a manager and do not start the job before the manager corrects it.

    • Report any incident (accident/injury) including but not limited to vehicle, persons, equipment, chemical, or other personnel to a manager as soon as capable of doing so but no later than end of shift.

    • Attend all safety meetings and trainings set up by the manager and or Safety & Compliance Officer.

    • Obtain all necessary training and certifications for your position. 

    • Must become first-aid certified. 


    Other Responsibilities:


    • Completes various clean-ups, inventories, administrative, and other duties as assigned or as necessary.


    Organizational Responsibilities:


    • Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve the efficiency, productivity, and profitability of the company.

    • Keep up to date on the latest trends and changes in the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training classes, and other events, and accessing other information sources.


    Requirements

      Required Qualifications:


    • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to comprehend and complete required documents, explain equipment features, and answer questions about the operation of the equipment to onsite individuals.

    • Demonstrated proficiency in tool usage, including phone and computer usage required for service calls, work order completion, and on-site training tools, inventory, and time entry. 

    • Obtain job related certifications within the first 6 months.

    • Class C CDL with hazardous materials endorsement

    • Exceptional customer service skills.

    • Sense of urgency, organizational skills, professional presence, and work in a team environment.

    • Demonstrated ability to represent the company in a dependable and professional manner.

    • Ability to work independently with little supervision.

    • Maintains a positive attitude. Remains open minded, upbeat, and trainable at all times. 

    • Work shift adaptability, which would include an on-call rotation and the ability to work alternative shifts such as weekends, holidays, afternoons, or evenings.

    • High School diploma, GED, or an employment history that demonstrates the application of repairs to resolve customer complaints and issues and/or ability to communicate issues to the supervisor for assistance. 


    Preferred Qualifications:


    • Current Industry knowledge and prior experience servicing dairy equipment.

    • Mechanical aptitude

    • Demonstrated mathematical skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, and take accurate measurements to calculate precise cuts for installation and repairs. 


    Physical Demands:


    • Applicant must be able to physically access all exterior and interior parts of the property and amenities.

    • Applicant must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time.

    • Applicant must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of up to fifty (50) pounds independently and one hundred (100) pounds with assistance.

    • Must be able to take and pass a physical agility test, background, and drug test. 

    • Routine local travel and some distance travel is required and necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position.

    The applicant will work in outside elements where temperature, weather, odors, and/or landscape may be unpleasant and/or potentially hazardous.
