Chemical Dependency Director directs chemical dependency and substance abuse treatment and recovery programs. Leads, supports, and develops care team members. Being a Chemical Dependency Director oversees services from intake through discharge for continuity and quality of client care. Prioritizes client safety and directs crisis management. Additionally, Chemical Dependency Director develops and administers approved standards and guidelines, ensures all licensing and accreditation requirements are maintained. Establishes and administers recordkeeping and reporting processes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Typically reports to a director. The Chemical Dependency Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. To be a Chemical Dependency Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     General Description:

    Performs analyses to ensure raw materials, intermediate products and finish goods meet Pace International’s specifications.   Maintain QC instruments, calibrations, and lab equipment used for these analyses.  Perform all needed record keeping and lab supply ordering.  Special projects may be assigned by the Quality Manager.

     

     

    Principal Responsibilities

     

    • Work in a safe manor following all safety rules
    • Work in a team environment  
    • Perform analyses on samples submitted to the Laboratory.
    • Inspect, approve or reject packaging of finish goods prior to releasing to inventory, to assure it meets Pace’s standard of quality.
    • Analyze and approve or reject raw materials to be used by production.
    • Communicate with other departments.
    • Prepare and standardize reagents for analysis and orders.
    • Perform calibration and routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
    • Maintain record or logbook of all analyses, samples received, raw materials, reagents prepared, calibration and maintenance.
    • Order lab supplies for the laboratory as required, including satellite labs.
    • Maintain cleanliness and orderly housekeeping in the laboratory.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Manager.
    • Conducting Quality Control tests of production batches.
    • Conducting ‘wet chemical’ tests such as pH, titration’s, etc.
    • Operation of analytical instrumentation including a Gas Chromatograph, HPLC, Viscometers, Electronic Balances, Moisture Tellers, etc.
    • Recording of all measurements in a laboratory notebook or on a computer.
    • Preparing reports using computer software such as Word, Excel, Access, etc.
    • Working cooperatively with other chemists in the efficient operation of the Quality Control laboratory.
    • Participate in Process Improvement Activities.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    TYPICAL EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION GUIDELINES:

     

    • A.A. degree preferred
    • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Able to respond to a changing environment
    • Must be available to work evenings and weekends during harvest season as needed
    • Able to work without close supervision
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
    • Knowledge of the SAP ERP software environment preferred

    JOB DETAILS:

    • Hourly range: $22.00 - $25.00, bonus potential 
    • Type: Full-time, onsite 
    • Schedule: generally, M-F
