Being a Chemical Engineer compiles and analyzes testing data. Presents research results used to estimate costs, establish performance standards, identify solutions, and facilitate processes. Additionally, Chemical Engineer maintains lab and plant safety procedures for chemical storage, handling, transport, and disposal. Complies with all safety and environmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Chemical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Description:
Client is seeking candidates that have Engineering (Engineers) or Engineering Technology (Techs) degree to work as Distribution Engineers and Technicians focused Duke energy Distribution projects, specifically the Power Up project.
These engineers will be trained by two high level distribution engineers.
Project work will include the following:
Will perform engineering calculations that may include: structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, fault currents, and coordination of protective devices.
Each project could also include preparing forestry trimming requests, facilitating permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, development of a BOM, estimating costs, etc.
All projects will be related to electric power distribution and leadership - specifically make - ready and smart antenna
90% of the day will be design development and coordination
10% they will be required to go out in the field - this would be after they several months on the job
