This position supports Honeywell’s Apollo Plant at our flagship facility in Geismar, LA – located near Baton Rouge. Apollo was built new in 2017 and produces the environmentally friendly Solstice 1234yf automotive refrigerant. Our business is experiencing tremendous growth as the world transitions to more sustainable products. 

We are looking to add another high-quality Chemical Engineer to our very strong team!

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for effective operation and continuous improvement for a portion of the Apollo Plant which includes a 3-step chemical process, Environmental unit, and Tank Farm.   
• Participate in site HSE and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, including Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, Root Cause Analysis/Incident Investigations, and development of Standard Operating Procedures.
• Identify and monitor Key Process Indicators to sustain optimal plant operations which meet production, yield, and cost targets.
• Develop and execute productivity projects to improve baseline safety, quality, production, and cost performance. 
• Develop capital project scopes of work and associated process packages to improve or maintain unit operations.
• Bridge multiple layers of organization between management and front-line workers to deliver plant safety and production objectives.
• Mentor and train Operations staff on unit design and intended/optimal operation. Assist Operations department in troubleshooting plant operational issues.
