Chemical Engineer conducts research and development projects involving the study of chemical reactions and material properties to innovate and develop new products or optimize existing products. Designs experiments and builds prototypes and models used to investigate and support the development of improved chemicals, materials, products, and manufacturing processes. Being a Chemical Engineer compiles and analyzes testing data. Presents research results used to estimate costs, establish performance standards, identify solutions, and facilitate processes. Additionally, Chemical Engineer maintains lab and plant safety procedures for chemical storage, handling, transport, and disposal. Complies with all safety and environmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Chemical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Your main focus will be overseeing production and quality of the product. 60% of the role will be geared towards projects and process improvements, while the other 40% is day-to-day support. This will allow you to take ownership of your work and be able to wear multiple hats strengthening your skillset on all ends of engineering. You'll be reporting to the Operations Manager, with support from the Plant Manager, a Senior Engineer, and a Maintenance Manager. There's a 10% bonus and on top of that a $15k cost-of-living allowance.Minimum Requirements:
- B.S. Chemical Engineering
- 2 years of process or production experience in manufacturing
- Background out of chemical manufacturing, pulp & paper, or closely related
- Previous experience with PSM, capital projects, design, SAP are a plus
