Chemical Engineer conducts research and development projects involving the study of chemical reactions and material properties to innovate and develop new products or optimize existing products. Designs experiments and builds prototypes and models used to investigate and support the development of improved chemicals, materials, products, and manufacturing processes. Being a Chemical Engineer compiles and analyzes testing data. Presents research results used to estimate costs, establish performance standards, identify solutions, and facilitate processes. Additionally, Chemical Engineer maintains lab and plant safety procedures for chemical storage, handling, transport, and disposal. Complies with all safety and environmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Chemical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Job Description:  Warsaw Chemical is seeking a Project Engineer with experience in a facility relocation to work in our corporate office in Warsaw, Indiana. The ideal candidate will lead in all areas of project management and be an important part of our growth team.

    Primary Job Duties:

    • Coordinate, organize, and oversee a manufacturing facility move.
    • Utilize experience in facility design and equipment installation process with Lean Manufacturing.
    • Delegates work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints.
    • Leads an interdepartmental team to complete an assigned project on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
    • Outlines the tasks involved in the project and delegates accordingly.
    • Conducts cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.
    • Prepares and implements a budget based on estimates.
    • Conducts risk assessments; reports identified risks to management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk (including termination of the project if appropriate).
    • Addresses questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.
    • Acts as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors.
    • Communicates and collaborates with sales and marketing teams to provide training and information required to promote and sell new projects, programs, and systems.
    • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in Chemical or Process Engineering.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods standing and walking and/or sitting.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
