Chemical Engineer conducts research and development projects involving the study of chemical reactions and material properties to innovate and develop new products or optimize existing products. Designs experiments and builds prototypes and models used to investigate and support the development of improved chemicals, materials, products, and manufacturing processes. Being a Chemical Engineer compiles and analyzes testing data. Presents research results used to estimate costs, establish performance standards, identify solutions, and facilitate processes. Additionally, Chemical Engineer maintains lab and plant safety procedures for chemical storage, handling, transport, and disposal. Complies with all safety and environmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Chemical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, chemicals and products within establishments by performing the following duties.

    Pay

    Starting wage is $17.50 per hour with a $1.25 per hour increase after successful completion of training and 6 months of employment.

    Employee Bonus Program - eligible to earn $2,000 annual bonus divided, determined and paid quarterly after first full quarter employed.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
    • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
    • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, chemicals or other stock items. Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
    • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
    • Marks materials with identifying information. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
    • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
    • Drives forklift to transport stored items from warehouse to loading dock.
    • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

    Requirements

    • Must have HS diploma or GED.
    • Forklift experience required.
    • Previous experience within an industrial warehouse setting or manufacturing environment highly preferred.
    • Previous chemical industry experience highly preferred.
    • Must possess basic math skills and be able to perform calculations (weight, counts, and conversions)
    • Must be good with hands and able to work in the elements of all seasons.
