Chemical Engineer conducts research and development projects involving the study of chemical reactions and material properties to innovate and develop new products or optimize existing products. Designs experiments and builds prototypes and models used to investigate and support the development of improved chemicals, materials, products, and manufacturing processes. Being a Chemical Engineer compiles and analyzes testing data. Presents research results used to estimate costs, establish performance standards, identify solutions, and facilitate processes. Additionally, Chemical Engineer maintains lab and plant safety procedures for chemical storage, handling, transport, and disposal. Complies with all safety and environmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Chemical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Job Accountabilities

- Troubleshoots based on results obtained from various process checks
- Compare analysis results to the standards and makes adjustments as needed
- must be able to work independently
Job Requirements- Prefer Physical Chemical South Carolina License of D Level or higher or ability to pass the state the license within 2 years of hire
- If not currently licensed must have strong math skills including geometry
- must be able to move 300 lbs in a 55 gallon drum with assistance
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may sit, climb or balance, talk & hear. The associate may repetitively lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions
