Job Summary

The Chemical Applicator has a range of responsibilities within the organization, is an integral part of the business, and portrays the professional image of Northside Elevator. The Chemical Applicator must have a solid understanding of the agricultural industry and chemical application. They will be responsible for accurately mixing and applying chemicals to customer fields. Accuracy, safety and building professional relationships with Northside Elevator customers is very important to the success of this role. This position works to provide quality service both to customers and the agronomy team. The Chemical Applicator is responsible for compliance with all company, local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate daily activities with Agronomy & Grain Operations Manager
• Correctly mix chemicals for application
• Load chemical sprayers/vehicles safely & accurately
• Maintain accurate logs books on applicated acres
• Perform maintenance and calibration of equipment
• Wear proper personal protective equipment and ensure overall safety compliance
• Participate in continued education & training
• Operate all equipment & vehicles according to company, local, state & federal policies
• Provide courteous customer service
• Complete all paperwork completely, accurately, and drop off in correct location
• Maintain equipment cleanliness
• Perform off-season work as directed by Agronomy & Grain Operations Manager.

Additional Duties

• Assist with work in other areas
• Seasonal weekend work required
• Preform all other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent
• High level of attention to detail
• Demonstrate good communication skills
• Chemical application experience preferred
• Demonstrate initiative, accountability, flexibility, good organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
• Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by displaying a high level of confidentiality

Hours are seasonally defined with more hours required during planting and harvesting times. Also, some weekend work is necessary during these times. Off-season schedule flexibility.
