Overview

The Chemical Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the production activities aimed at meeting internal and external customer expectations as well as improving and implementing new systems aimed at improving Quality, Productivity, and Profitability.  This position is also responsible for maintaining and implementing Engineering Processes and Projects aimed at continually improving the business.  In addition, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring that Safety and Environmental policies and procedures are followed and maintained within organizational, federal, and state regulations and laws. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safe, cost-effective manufacturing methods and equipment platforms working closely with production, R&D, quality and sales together.
• Responsible for monitoring and improving Quality, Production Processes, and Throughput.
• Monitor and optimize processes in plating and wet chemistry operations including metal paint manufacturing.
• Supporting the value streams with material, process and throughput improvements.
• Supporting finance with CapEx submissions with adequate machine selections including advanced automation implementation.
• Technical support for end customer requirements and specifications.
• Support, optimize and develop formulations for polymer-based materials.
• Design, develop, and procure new tooling, fixture, and equipment for production purposes using advanced CAD software.
• Assist the CoE, Manufacturing with the commercialization and scale-up of new designs.
• Collaborate with other Morgan sites to develop and implement best practices in the group.
• Work with Management Team to create and implement Continuous Improvement Projects.
• Maintain record keeping in compliance with government regulations and organizational requirements.
• Assumes responsibility for the safety and environmental issues associated with the manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety, Risk & Compliance initiatives and reporting requirements.
• Participate in training programs as required and recommend training for individuals in area of responsibility.
• Conduct job duties in accordance with Company EEO requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of Quality Process and the Quality Management System as it pertains to this and other positions where interaction occurs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical / Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.  
• Three years’ experience in ceramics or metals industry or other equivalent experience is a plus. 
• Experience with polymer chemistry and high temperature furnaces is a plus.
• Two years’ experience on process areas preferably wet chemistry.
• Solidworks or comparable experience with CAD systems
• Used to fast-paced environments, tight deadlines, and resource constraints.
• Experienced in analyzing data, problem solving and presentation of results.
• Basic understanding of quality management systems in an ISO 9001/AS 9100 is required.
• Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques is a plus.
• Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel required.

Salary range: $95,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year Plus 20 % Bonus
