Chemical Plant Operator jobs in Bismarck, ND
Chemical Plant Operator controls equipment and systems that process chemical substances and materials into products. Operates equipment and monitors the production process to ensure efficient and safe output. Being a Chemical Plant Operator follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed. Additionally, Chemical Plant Operator enters required production data and information into logs. May unload or move materials. Follows all procedures for safe material handling and required safety gear. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Chemical Plant Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Asgard Resources is a growing company that owns and operates the Hazen frac sand mine and processing facility. The Hazen mine is located near the town of Hazen, ND. Asgard is a leading provider of frac sand in North Dakota and has been operating since 2019.
Asgard is seeking plant operators to maintain and operate a sand washing and sizing plant and a dryer. This job will also include operating heavy equipment at times. Successful applicants will be trained on the specific equipment utilized at the facility.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and adjust machines and conveyors to maintain flow and quality of sand
- Perform emergency and routine maintenance on plant equipment
- Assist with various construction projects
- Perform assignments outlined by supervision
- Work safely
- Willingness to learn new skills
Qualification
- Previous mechanical or operating experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to perform simple math calculation
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and climb ladders/stairs
- Ability to workdays or nights, 12 hr. shifts and OT is required
- Ability to work independently or with a partner
