Chemical Plant Operator controls equipment and systems that process chemical substances and materials into products. Operates equipment and monitors the production process to ensure efficient and safe output. Being a Chemical Plant Operator follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed. Additionally, Chemical Plant Operator enters required production data and information into logs. May unload or move materials. Follows all procedures for safe material handling and required safety gear. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Chemical Plant Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. - Fill containers with product
- Select and apply proper labels
- Utilize lift equipment
- Clean for changeover
- Completes paperwork regarding the process of the finished products (batch sheets), set up printer and print labels, and utilize SAP system to scan in labels for inventory management
- Support ISO 9001, 14001, and Responsible Care Programs
- Perform housekeeping duties
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:-
High school degree or GED

Must meet fit to work policy

Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts including days, nights, weekends, holidays and OT

Must have basic math skills

Be able to lift 55 lbs. on a regular basis, at times be able to lift 110 lbs., be able to exert 100 lbs. of force occasionally

Pass employment physical including ability to stand, overhead reach, walk, push, stoop, climb, crouch, kneel, pull, hear, talk, see, grasp, sit, and carry

Fluent in English – reading and writing
