Operates equipment and monitors the production process to ensure efficient and safe output. Being a Chemical Plant Operator follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed. Additionally, Chemical Plant Operator enters required production data and information into logs. May unload or move materials. Follows all procedures for safe material handling and required safety gear. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Chemical Plant Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Summary
Responsible for passivation of stainless alloy aerospace components and chemical conversion coating of non-ferrous alloys. The Chemical Processing Technician will also be responsible for daily systems checks and chemical maintenance as well as room cleanliness and upkeep. This job requires technicians to ensure the proper safety techniques are always applied at all times. Work independently or with minimal direction from Supervisor.
