Summary:

Prairie Mountain Media is seeking a skilled worker who operates and maintains machinery and equipment in various areas such as manufacturing, construction, or production. Come join our team!

What you will do:

• Set up the SLS-2000, SLS 3000 or Kansa to run inserts or the Bravo to run books
• Responsible for maintenance on the mailroom equipment - grease, oil, etc
• Ensure that correct inserts goes into the paper on the correct day, and that we meet all deadlines
• Confirm the right insert is inserted on the right day
• Assist the machine inserters when needed
• Verify that books are trimmed to customer specifications
• Insure bundle counts are correct
• Keep mailroom clean and orderly
• Perform as lead during shift
• Supervise inserters in coordination with assistant mailroom Supervisor
• Communicates with assistant mailroom supervisor to notify him of any problems related to mailroom operations
• Tie bales as needed, both paper and cardboard
• Use forklift and pallet jacks to bring inserts in from warehouse and move finished pallets from machine
• Strap and shrink wrap finished pallets
• Responsible for running Bravo bindery

What you will bring:

• Ability to work alone and be a self-starter while taking pride and ownership in the work
• Work effectively in a deadline oriented environment
• Computer literacy and ability to clearly communicate information, both verbal and written
• Attention to detail with great customer service and problem solving skills
• Demonstrate safe and proper use of safety equipment, shop tools, machinery, etc.
• Need to be able to work any and all shifts is necessary
• Know how to use hand and power tools
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior mailroom experience preferred

The hourly wage is $16.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition program, and 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
