Operates equipment and monitors the production process to ensure efficient and safe output. Being a Chemical Plant Operator follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed. Additionally, Chemical Plant Operator enters required production data and information into logs. May unload or move materials. Follows all procedures for safe material handling and required safety gear. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The operator will report directly to the Regional Operations Director, and will be expected to perform routine maintenance, repair equipment as necessary, and troubleshoot issues as they arise, while coordinating with co-workers and business partners as needed. Equipment to be operated and serviced will most commonly include PLCs, data loggers, biogas blowers, 3-phase motors, and electrical wiring. Applicants should have experience with a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment and enjoy troubleshooting issues within industrial facilities. Excellent communication skills (verbal, phone, email, and text) are needed to work in this team-based, distributed support environment.
