Chemical Plant Operator jobs in Los Angeles, CA
Chemical Plant Operator controls equipment and systems that process chemical substances and materials into products. Operates equipment and monitors the production process to ensure efficient and safe output. Being a Chemical Plant Operator follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed. Additionally, Chemical Plant Operator enters required production data and information into logs. May unload or move materials. Follows all procedures for safe material handling and required safety gear. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Chemical Plant Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Job Details
Plant is a 24 / 7 Schedule, so must be open to rotating shifts!!
All phases of batch processing and packaging
This includes material charging, product sampling, and maintaining control of DCS processing
Reactor Operators will perform all required SAP functions in a timely manner
Operators will maintain all required SOPs, regulatory training and abide by all Federal, State and local agencies regulations
Reduce hazardous waste, off-spec material, and unnecessary costs
Skills :
- Polyester batch processing knowledge;
- DCS Knowledge; SAP Skills;
Fundamentals of hazardous waste regulations
Inventory & Cycle Counts, DOT & IATA regulations, ISO practices and principles;
Good laboratory technique (accurate preparation and testing of all samples, accurate, and complete recording of all data, neat work habits and organizational abilities)
