Chemical Plant Operator jobs in Petersburg, VA

This position monitors our computer system to control production by making necessary adjustments to tank levels, pumps, agitators, valves and other process equipment, Operators also loads tank trucks with finished product and collects and carries out chemical analysis on product samples. This position also assists Maintenance with projects when needed as needed.

Candidates should have experience working in an industrial environment and be mechanically inclined. Chemical manufacturing experience is a bonus, but not required. Candidates should have basic math skills, and have understanding of units, including the use of weight, volume, specific gravity, pressure and concentration. Candidates should be able to work 12 hour shifts, 4 days a week on a rotating days/nights schedule. This position averages 44 hours a week.
