Chemical Technician determines the physical and chemical properties of compounds and materials using quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis. Performs a variety of chemical tests using instrumental methods and standard test equipment. Being a Chemical Technician prepares materials for laboratory examination and conducts quality, safety, and compliance assessments. Follows established SOPs. Additionally, Chemical Technician sets up and maintains lab equipment. Records and tabulates data and documents observations and results. Requires an associate degree in chemistry, science or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Chemical Technician works under moderate supervision. Plant operator duties include operating a forklift or other equipment to load or move materials to supply production areas with needed materials. This would also include load and/or unload trucks, railcars or other containers. Put away materials, track inventory, and complete necessary paperwork. There is an expectation that all work is performed in accordance with Company safety and environmental policies and procedures. GAC will provide all necessary training. Must be able to work any scheduled shifts (AM/PM; occasional Sat/Sun for OT).
