Our client is a category-leading chemical manufacturer for the consumer, industrial, and agricultural industries. They are looking for a Chemical Facility Maintenance Technician for their headquarters in Madison, WI. A complete benefit package is offered, an hourly rate of $30-$32/hour, an annual bonus program, and target bonus. No relocation benefits are available. Job responsibilities include:

Perform regularly scheduled maintenance and repairs within a Class 1/Division 1 active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing facility

• Facilitate contractor relationships for chemical facility maintenance
• Perform standard maintenance on equipment used for plant scale chemical synthesis (2000L glass-lined reactors, vacuum pumps, drying ovens, glass condensers, and filter dryers)
• Work with Engineering and Chemistry teams to execute preventive maintenance and service to equipment used to support the manufacture of APIs
• Perform repairs and manage specialized contractors to perform needed repairs
• Check, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair/replace equipment on glass-line reactors, acid gas scrubber, heat exchangers for reactors, filtration system, friction air drying ovens, floor balances, material transfer pumps, freezer system, nitrogen generator, water supply, mobile fume hood, concentrate mix tanks, and more
• Complete US EPA RCRA Hazwoper training

The following requirements must be met to be considered for the position:

• A.S – Industrial Maintenance or related discipline
• 10 years’ experience maintaining glass-lined chemical reactors in a chemical manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated success in maintaining equipment that manufactures highly toxic API substances
• Experience working in reactor rooms that employ highly flammable, combustible liquids
• Must have experience/knowledge of safety measures required for operating within chemical synthesis space
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics
• Skilled in operating hand/power tools, spark tester, welding equipment, forklift, electrical test devices, full-faced and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA)
• Must complete respirator evaluation, comply with facial hair policy, and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
