Additionally, Chemical Technician sets up and maintains lab equipment. Records and tabulates data and documents observations and results. Requires an associate degree in chemistry, science or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Chemical Technician works under moderate supervision. Roles and Responsibilities: We are seeking an experienced I&E Technician to support our Mid River plants which include Luling, Taft, Norco, Garyville, and Convent SMR facilities. The Instrument & Electrical Technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and electrical equipment at our Mid River plants. They are also responsible for leading electrical power distribution systems maintenance activities, assisting other maintenance personnel in developing inspection/repair scopes and write/update procedures as needed. The job will entail day to day routine, emergency, and major maintenance, reading and comprehension of circuits/prints/P&ID’s/schematics. Our I&E Tech work 4x10s, Monday through Thursday 6am - 4:30pm, and on call once every 4 weeks. Required Skills / Abilities: Calibrate manufacturing instrumentation according to procedures. Perform routine PMs on manufacturing and building equipment. Trouble shoot PLC equipment. Assist other maintenance techs with assigned tasks. Complete instrument tracking documentation. Complete required safety tasks and activities. Develop procedures for instrument calibrations and preventive maintenance tasks. Support facility operations by completing assigned work orders. Must be willing to work overtime as required, and willing to take 24-hour on call responsibilities on a rotating basis. Education and Licensing Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Technical degree and/or completion of an apprenticeship program, trade school diploma or certificate is a plus. 5 years minimum of industrial maintenance experience working on instrumentation & electrical equipment, and calibration in a chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or plastic plant or 3 years minimum of experience with a technical degree. Analyzer experience a plus SAP knowledge highly desired but not required. Applicable military training will be considered equivalent to industrial experience. Strong mechanical skills. Proficient communication and computer skills. Demonstrated commitment to quality workmanship and flexibility in job assignments. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and climb ladders.
