Chemical Technician determines the physical and chemical properties of compounds and materials using quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis. Performs a variety of chemical tests using instrumental methods and standard test equipment. Being a Chemical Technician prepares materials for laboratory examination and conducts quality, safety, and compliance assessments. Follows established SOPs. Additionally, Chemical Technician sets up and maintains lab equipment. Records and tabulates data and documents observations and results. Requires an associate degree in chemistry, science or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Chemical Technician works under moderate supervision. Qualifications / Requirements: Regional driving capability, work schedule of 3 weeks on and 1 week off. Working up to 6 days per week. Tanker and Hazmat endorsements (or willing to obtain prior to hire). Minimum of 3 years, current tractor-trailer experience. No more than 1 citation and 0 at-fault accidents within the last 3 years. Ability to work nights and weekends. High school diploma or equivalent required. This is a safety sensitive position. Drivers living outside of hiring area will be required to drive to AP nearest location.
