Job Summary:
· The Junior chemist will mainly work in the lab for technology development, supporting production and application of sealants, coatings, and adhesives.
· This position at GW offers great opportunities:
o Continually build chemical knowledge with an emphasis on organic and polymer chemistry
o Develop an understanding of the relationship between chemical structure, process, and performance of materials.
o Grow to lead the materials research and development or products quality control.
Essential Functions:
· Master and develop analytical procedures for chemical/material testing; conduct instrumental analysis of products: determining chemical structures and material properties.
· Execute chemical/material process trials, record experimental details, and make recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative outcomes.
· Basic maintenance of lab: keeping work area and equipment clean and order. Coordinate instrument calibration and material purchase though outside vendors.
Education:
· A degree in Chemistry, ChemE/MaterialE or related fields with a solid foundation in Chemistry
Experience:
· 0-2 years of experience in laboratory chemical handling preferred product formulation, analytical measurement, and property testing
· Compose technical reports, products specifications, processing standards.
Quality and Skills:
· Curiosity to science and technology, comfortability in team-work environment, willingness for mutual assistance
· Good verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on independent follow-up. Proficient in MS office products, versed in reporting in tabular and graphical forms.
